This is a fluid situation that will change and Gallatin Health has a web
site on COVID19, https://www.healthygallatin.org/coronavirus-covid-19/. They
also set up a 24/7 number some weeks ago for anyone to call: 582-3100.

GALLATIN HEALTH OFFICER'S FOUR SAFEY POINTS:

In his news conference yesterday, Matt Kelley made four points about local
safety:

First, take care of yourself: wash hands, eat well, sleep, and stay
home/isolate if you're sick.

Second, practice social distancing in general, and especially if you're in
an at-risk group: avoid crowds, those who are ill, etc.

Third, Gallatin Health is asking event organizers to consider
postponing/cancelling events that bring people together in close quarters
for a purpose that is non-essential. Individuals and families also should
make smart decisions about events they do attend.

Fourth, don't panic and be kind. Local case(s) will be in quarantine for 14
days, along with household member contacts (and govt staff will attempt to
track down other contacts also). Kelley: "We ask everyone in our community
to respond with compassion, kindness, and charity in their heart."

VOLUNTEER

At this time of uncertainty, one known is that we can come together as a
community and help each other. Many in and around Bozeman are going to need
assistance in the coming days: things like elderly who can't travel,
checking on health of shut-ins, donations to food banks for those who lose
jobs, the need for even more childcare if schools close, getting school
lunches to families and children, housing assistance, and many more things.

The county emergency response officer leads monthly mtgs of COAD (Community
Organizations Active in Disaster) and the next one is Wednesday. It includes
local govt, groups like United Way, and many others to help identify needs
and assign work.

They'll need help from community groups, congregations, neighbors, Girl/Boy
Scouts and all who can help. One thing to consider, many volunteers in our
community are elderly and they no longer may be able to help b/c of their
own safety concerns. So neighbors, groups, and others, please start to
contact each other and see who can volunteer time in the coming days.

You also can contact the local HRDC, which has agreed to be a clearinghouse
for volunteers. They run the Food Bank, Fork & Spoon, Headstart, warming
center, and many other programs. HRDC is a great place to volunteer and
they'll also keep a sign-up list to help folks get involved with other
groups. To get on the list 587-4486 or email hello at thehrdc.org
<mailto:hello at thehrdc.org> .

Thanks everyone. Please stay informed, stay safe, be smart, and be kind.

As always, please let me know if I may be helpful in any way.

Chris Mehl, 406-581-4992
