My apologies for delays in communication, our volunteers have been 
working long hours in both our initial response and the sustaining 
activities that immediately followed.

I have attached the latest official status report from the Rocky 
Mountain Incident Management Team who is currently lead Public 
Information source for this large scale event.

At 7000+ acres this fire was elevated from a Type 3 Incident Command 
System (ICS) to a Type 1 Incident, the highest ICS level. While our 
department led the initial response to the fire near the M, we 
immediately escalated the severity level and requested mutual aid from 
the forest service, aviation assets and local fire agencies. 
Subsequently our department has been integrated into the overall effort 
consisting of USFS, Fish & Wildlife, Montana DNRC, Gallatin County 
Emergency Management, Gallatin County Sheriff's office and our local 
fire mutual aid responders: Gallatin County Fire, Central Valley Fire, 
Bozeman FD, Fort Ellis Fire, Gallatin Gateway, Big Sky Fire, Three Forks 
Fire, Hyalite Fire, Manhattan Fire and Amsterdam Fire. The out of state 
departments involved are part of the USFS response framework.

Our department is currently working in an active structure protection 
role while also supporting the overall damage assessment activity with 
the Gallatin County Sheriff's office and US Forest Service.
