RY acquired these about 20 years ago in the Gallatin Land Exchange, aka the Bangtail Swap.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ve mapped the sections involved in the two deeds I could find in green (see below). It seems like one or two are missing – it’s possible there’s yet another deed I missed. The Lazy J occupies the heart of the canyon, roughly between the straightaway and Flaming Arrow.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Because the deal has only recently been completed, Lazy J has not announced what its intentions are. The Bangtail divide trail, because it is an easement, will remain open as will any existing right of ways or easements to reach forest service land.
