I can see headlamps working around the spot fires on the high

all the fire updates as I worry about my Bridger Canyon friends.
I now live on the west side of the Bridgers north of Sypes and
Middle Cottonwood.. The wind and the flames here have seemed
too have picked up significantly within the last 15 to 20
minutes. It's very visible from my house. We noticed the fire
when it for started this afternoon about 2:30 and it just took
off. It appeared to be right on the trail straight south of the

Subject: fire update

Fortunately, the
wind has shifted and the fire has now stalled out so it is
no longer advancing along the ridge of the Bridgers. New
trees are occasionally bursting into flames but they are
isolated and burning on their own. No more planes or
helicopters at work so it looks like all aerial efforts to
control the fire have been put on hold. Fire trucks are
still stationed in the canyon presumably on guard for a
significant flare up. With any luck, things will just
smolder overnight and renewed aerial efforts tomorrow can
knock the fires out completely. Despite the anxiety this
has undoubtedly created for all involved, given the wind
conditions we experienced just a few days ago, we have
much to be thankful for. Hope everyone can sleep well
tonight and that tomorrow brings an end to the drama.
