Background
Richard Lyon has prepared a thorough background document on the topic:
The summary refers to some draft language alternatives, which are here:
BCPOA previously surveyed opinion on this topic, summarized here:
There’s some discussion of the issues in the comments on the subsequent post:
When deciding this issue economic factors also need to be taken into consideration. Long term residents may find that decreased employment opportunities, rising cost of living, moving to fixed income status, or any number of circumstances may necessitate renting space to continue owning their home. I have always appreciated the efforts of the BCPOA in maintaining the look of the canyon, but I hope that will not mean creating a zone where only the financially privileged will be able to keep their homes. Hopefully, a compromise that will allow for financially viable, safe and non-disruptive short-term rentals can be achieved.
Were there ever meeting minutes or any type of info put out from this meeting? I was at the meeting and I’d say that an overwhelming majority of the people there were in support of of short term rentals.
We don’t have written minutes, but the county planners recorded the session.
