[Canyon] Housing options, matching needs, relief event

Hi Neighbors,

Some forwarded messages below cover housing options and offers, as well
as a commentary on the utility (or lack thereof) of the relief event.

I'm interested to hear whether your needs are being met. We've discussed
putting up a page on BCPOA.net for matching needs and offers, but I
don't want to further fragment chaotic communications. At the same time,
a lot of the traffic is on Facebook (
https://www.facebook.com/groups/bridgerfoothillsfire/announcements ),
and not everyone is a user. So, please let me know if you have thoughts
on how to do this, or specific requirements or resources (reply to me
directly).

I posted the recent fire report at
http://bcpoa.net/2020/09/sep-9-fire-update/

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Mark Mathes here from fairgrounds.  NWE was helpful and currently
looking for deputy.

A few help agencies (RC, SA etc.)  Otherwise the event is offensively
commercial and predatory.

Thanks-M

I would like to suggest to property owners who have a guest house, or
separate guest quarters, to offer them up to neighbors who have lost
their homes. Sometimes people don’t think of these things. I know of
displaced residents looking to stay somewhere. Thank you.

Hi Tom,

Jake from Kelly Canyon here. I took over my family’s motel in Bozeman
this spring and want to extend any help I can to those in our canyon
that have been displaced and are in need because of the fire. I met with
Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Help Center today and when I saw your
email, I thought I should push the info to you as well. HRDC is helping
with longer term housing but, we can support people for up to a week as
they figure out longer term solutions. Attached are details.

Let me know if anyone needs a hand and feel free to share the info as
you see best.

Thanks for all your communication. You do a great job and you have a
huge impact. Thank you.

Jake

Hi neighbors -

A lot of us are back home, but I think quite a few aren't. If you have a

better read on prospects, please share your experience.

If you're displaced, we have a 1BR apartment over our barn in Kelly

Canyon available. Best for 2, but more in a pinch. Reply to me at

tom at metasd.com, or text 406 580 2120 (flaky service).

[Adding a little info - we don't rent our place much, but we hate to
have it empty when anyone is in need. Short term is probably a better
fit for us than long term, but happy to entertain anything that helps
someone out. I feel very lucky to still have a home to come back to.]

Tom
