[Canyon] Taxes & Fwd: Bridger Foothills Fire - 9/15 evening update

Hi all:

Today I spoke with Alison Kennedy who has been an employee for many 
years with the Property Assessment Division of the MT Dept of Revenue. 
  She said that she would be happy to offer personal and immediate help 
and guidance to Canyon residents who have lost structures, including 
  homes as well as out buildings, etc.  Alison told me that she can 
guide people through the steps necessary to apply for tax relief, and 
said that often people are not aware that tax relief is available for 
any structure lost, even if not a home.  She said that people will need 
the report from the Fire Chief.  Usually a sherif’s report is also 
needed, however, she said that this might not be necessary with a 
disaster of this dimension as the sheriff usually has already provided 
the report from that department.  Interested parties may contact Alison
